So, I don’t know who still visits my blog, but it doesn’t really matter to me anymore. Right now I am using this place as a dump for all the lyrics romanizations, and also any major changes in my life.
Sometimes I have the urge to make a really long post but I am always distracted by other things in that process. I also have a hunch that I am afraid of what my readers (my closest friends) think of my progress and myself.
As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve decided against moving the lyrics off to another site, mostly because I enjoy talking about the songs themselves and how they relate to me. So it has, sort of developed into a music/lyrics blog without me knowing lol.
Regarding the blog as a whole: I’ve changed the theme, added tags to the lyrics as their prime method of organization, sticky’d the A to Z Challenge (I’m halfway there! =D), edited this theme called zbench to my own liking and also renamed all of the widgets.
I need to re-write the About Me page, it’s in need of a makeover lol.

I am not a huge fan of YUI. Her voice sometimes seem a little too airy for me to enjoy it. She is a great artist though, and her musicality spans a variety genres including rock, pop and indie. I remember I was really obsessed with again when it was first released.
This single was released on June 2nd.
Those of you that follow me on Twitter know about Young Song. The lyrics for this song was on it, and I wanted to romanize it, because I know YUI is popular, and that her songs are usually good.
I don’t know why, but there doesn’t seem to be a PV for this song. Very weird.

Lena Park was an artist I discovered by accident. At the time I was fresh off the Yamaki on-screen chemistry from Nobuta. wo Produce and Kurosagi. Suffice it to say I rampaged through the internet trying to look for real evidences for their relationship. There was one music video that caught my eye: a music video based on the premise that Yamashita Tomohisa and Horikita Maki’s roles in a fictional story were siblings, and he was in love with her. The title of the music video was “I’m in love with my little sister”. Sounds a lot like Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru. The link to this video is posted below. Take a look at it. I hope you like it!
I didn’t know the singer of the song until a while later. And when Inori ~You Raise Me Up was released as the opening theme to RomeoxJuliet, I recognized the name. And thus, I was introduced to one of Asia’s most talented singer.
I like that Lena Park can sing in a multitude of genres. I don’t mean that there aren’t enough Asian singers who can do that, but Park sings in each genre that I can accept and like. She’s the only singer who I actually want to hear sing Jazz, and I barely even like jazz. I’m sure she’d sound awesome.
I’ve come back to this song lately, and having romanized the lyrics for this song, I recognized one of the composers of the music, Sawano Hiroyuki. Sawano Hiroyuki composed the soundtrack to Ohno Satoshi’s first starring jdrama, Maou. I was surprised, but I am very impressed with his work on the Maou Soundtrack, and also on this song.
Beyond that, this song has lackluster lyrics. Very contrite lines of love and admiration and half-heartedly written for a brilliant piece of music and instrumental. Zannen (=shame).
Interesting videos of this song apart from the official PV on Youtube: Yamaki MV that I mentioned and Live Version.

Listening to: EXILE - 道
I don’t have a lot of time because I’ve got a wedding on Saturday I need to help prepare with my mom. I’ve finally found out what the gift registry in big department stores are for lol.
Like Kobukuro’s Tsubomi, I discovered this song from Orgel’s Relaxing Piano Vol. 2. I never heard the real song until I began the research for Marnie’s 20th birthday mixed CD, when I remembered this sweet melody from the relaxing piano album.
With sweet and pretty lyrics, this is a fairly generic EXILE ballad. This was the first single after Shun (Kiyokiba Shunsuke) left EXILE for a solo career and Takahiro (Tasaki Takahiro) joined in his place as the second lead vocalist.
It’s got a nice PV that seems somewhat low-budget compared to their more recent releases. Simple and beautiful though.

This is a classic, the oldest Japanese song I know. This was first released in 1997 by Yamazaki Masayoshi. It is his most famous song.
It was re-released in 2007 as a Special Edition single after Shinkai Makoto asked Yamazaki to use it as the ending theme to Shinkai’s film 5 Centimeters per Second.
5 Centimeters per Second was recommended to me by Kaylie a few years back. I probably first heard the song through one of Matsumoto Jun’s concert lives before Arashi was popular. But it didn’t register until Kaylie played it as background music when we painted the many banners I made for UWO’s Canadian Cancer Society. It wasn’t until later that I watched the movie that I realized that’s why Kaylie liked the song so much.
There are a few very nice lines here. One of my favourites are, “I’m always looking for pieces of you — at the store before a long trip, and in the corners in newspapers. Even though I know that there is no way you could be in any of these places. If miracles could happen, I want to show you the new day, the me today, and also say to you the ‘I love you’ I couldn’t say before.”
